About this course
Covers the full HR cycle at a working practitioner level. Topics include workforce planning, job analysis and job descriptions, recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, remuneration and benefits, training, employee relations, discipline and grievances, and exit management. Delegates look at how these activities link together and how HR supports line managers in each area.
Why this course
HR practices that grow piecemeal often leave gaps, such as recruitment that ignores workforce plans or performance results that never inform training or pay. Practitioners who see the whole cycle can spot these gaps and fix them. The result is fairer, more consistent people management and HR advice that line managers trust.
What delegates will be able to do
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to
- Conduct a job analysis and write a job description with clear outputs and requirements
- Plan and run a fair, competency-based recruitment and selection process
- Design an onboarding plan that brings new employees to full productivity quickly
- Apply sound procedure to grievances and disciplinary matters
- Link performance results to training, reward and career decisions
Who should attend
HR officers, HR generalists, personnel practitioners and HR supervisors with some working experience, as well as line managers with people management responsibilities. Delegates new to HR may prefer Introductory Human Resources Management.
How it is delivered
Facilitator-led sessions with case studies, group exercises on job descriptions and interview design, and discussion of HR practice in delegates' own organisations. It is available as a public course, in-house at your premises, or as live virtual sessions. Duration and dates are confirmed in your quote, and in-house groups can have the examples and exercises fitted to their organisation.
