About this course
Provides the tools and steps for analysing gender relations and building gender into the whole programme cycle. Topics include sex-disaggregated data, the Harvard and Moser analytical frameworks, gender needs assessment, gender-sensitive indicators, gender audits and gender-responsive budgeting. Delegates apply the tools to a project or policy from their own organisation.
Why this course
Many organisations have gender policies but lack the practical tools to apply them in project design, monitoring and budgets. Without proper gender analysis, programmes can miss target groups or widen existing gaps. The course gives staff concrete methods to turn gender commitments into routine practice.
What delegates will be able to do
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to
- Collect and interpret sex-disaggregated data for a project or policy
- Apply the Harvard and Moser frameworks to a programme
- Develop gender-sensitive indicators for a results framework
- Conduct a basic gender audit of a project or unit
- Prepare a gender mainstreaming action plan for a programme cycle
Who should attend
Programme and project managers, M&E officers, planners, gender focal persons and policy staff in government, development agencies, NGOs and private companies. No previous gender training is required.
How it is delivered
Practical exercises on delegates' own projects, case study analysis and group work on gender audit tools, supported by facilitator demonstrations. It is available as a public course, in-house at your premises, or as live virtual sessions. Duration and dates are confirmed in your quote, and in-house groups can have the examples and exercises fitted to their organisation.
