About this course
Teaches JavaScript for building interactive web pages and simple web applications. Delegates start with syntax, variables, data types, operators, conditions, loops and functions, then work with arrays and objects, manipulate the DOM, handle events and validate forms. Later sessions introduce asynchronous code with promises, async and await, and the Fetch API for retrieving data from web services.
Why this course
JavaScript runs in every web browser and underpins most modern websites and online services. Staff who can write it can build and maintain web forms, internal tools and data-driven pages without relying entirely on outside developers. It is also the natural next step for web designers who already know HTML and CSS.
What delegates will be able to do
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to
- Write JavaScript using variables, conditions, loops and reusable functions
- Manipulate page content and styles through the Document Object Model
- Handle user events and validate form input before submission
- Retrieve and display data from a web API using fetch and async code
- Debug scripts using browser developer tools and console output
Who should attend
Web designers, junior developers, ICT officers and analysts who want to add interactivity to web pages. Delegates should know basic HTML and CSS. No previous programming experience is required.
How it is delivered
Hands-on coding exercises in a browser and code editor, building small interactive projects step by step, with code reviews and debugging practice. It is available as a public course, in-house at your premises, or as live virtual sessions. Duration and dates are confirmed in your quote, and in-house groups can have the examples and exercises fitted to their organisation.
