Digital Citizenship

Course code DC 005. Digital, Data and ICT.

About this course

Sets out how to use digital technology safely, responsibly and productively at work and in public life. Topics include online identity and digital footprint, personal data and privacy, password and device security, phishing and scams, misinformation, respectful online communication, social media conduct for employees and the rights and responsibilities attached to digital public services.

Why this course

A single careless post, shared password or clicked link can damage an organisation's reputation or open the door to fraud. As more work and public services move online, every employee is part of the organisation's digital risk. Training staff in responsible online behaviour lowers incidents, supports social media and ICT policies and protects personal information.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to

  • Apply strong password, device and account security practices in daily work
  • Recognise phishing messages, online scams and social engineering attempts and respond correctly

  • Manage their digital footprint and privacy settings on common platforms
  • Communicate professionally on social media in line with their employer's policy
