About this course
Teaches practical data analysis in Stata from data import to publication-ready results. Topics include do-files and reproducible workflows, data cleaning and merging, descriptive statistics and tables, graphs, linear and limited dependent variable regression, panel data methods and analysis of household and enterprise survey data. Delegates work on real economic and survey datasets throughout.

- Import, clean, merge and reshape datasets using Stata commands and do-files
- Produce descriptive statistics, tables and graphs for reports
- Estimate and interpret OLS, logit and probit regression models
- Apply fixed and random effects models to panel data
- Analyse survey data using sampling weights and survey commands
Who should attend
Economists, statisticians, research officers, monitoring and evaluation officers and data analysts in central banks, ministries, statistics offices and research institutions. Basic statistics is assumed, no prior Stata experience is required.
How it is delivered
Hands-on computer sessions in Stata, with guided exercises on real survey and economic datasets and a final analysis task using delegates' own data where possible. It is available as a public course, in-house at your premises, or as live virtual sessions.
